Director of People and Culture Job at FMT Consultants
SUMMARY
The Director of People and Culture oversees all human resource functions for FMT including employee engagement, recruiting, organizational training and development, employee relations, compensation, payroll, benefits, performance management, policy development, administration, and other related functions.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director of People and Culture is expected to exercise strong emotional intelligence as well as independent and sound judgement based on professional experience, industry best practices and legal guidelines. This role must exhibit the utmost professionalism, demonstrate administrative expertise as well as a strategic mindset to drive efficient and effective operations. This position has one direct report, a Talent Acquisition Specialist.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is instrumental to attract, recruit, and retain strong talent, to cultivate and foster a work environment where team members thrive and grow personally and professionally.
- Oversees all Human Resource functions including employee engagement, employee relations, benefits, performance management, organizational training and development, recruitment, compensation, succession planning, policy development, due diligence in acquisitions, and other related administrative and facilities functions.
- Oversees the recruitment process for all open roles.
- Manages the Talent Acquisition Specialist to continually develop the best recruitment strategies. Collaborates with hiring directors and managers to ensure hiring of qualified team members through structured interviews scorecards.
- Implements organizational development plans to strengthen work culture.
- Serves as main point of contact for internally developed training and development program, FMT Academy.
- Identifies specific training needs, develops training requirements, and plans to implement training requirements as part of the FMT Academy program.
- Manages employee relations matters including employee performance issues, disciplinary matters, benefits, and policies. Leads conflict resolution sessions when necessary.
- Designs competitive variable compensation programs to drive attainment of FMT operating plans.
- Oversees and responds to feedback through employee engagement software.
- Manages the quarterly performance management.
- Responsible for the administration of employee benefits in partnership with PEO provider.
- Manages immigration process for new and current employees.
- Establishes and maintains employee records.
- Follows all Workers' Compensation claims with employee, medical needs, and insurance carrier. Requests changes or reviews as needed. Monitors claim status makes regular reports regarding claim status
- Responsible for semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in general Human Resource operations
- 5 years of solid HR experience
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred
- Demonstrated history of successful recruiting, particularly in the area of technical/IT recruiting.
- Knowledge of employment regulations relating to EEO, ADA, FMLA and sexual harassment.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
