Job Description:
This position is accountable for promoting, facilitating, managing, and evaluating the placement of undergraduate nursing students into clinical settings within multiple health care systems in Minnesota. This position initiates and maintains clinical contracts, manages student requests through The Clinical Coordination Partnership (TCCP) for Prelicensure Students, manages the onboarding of students into clinical settings, tracks students placed, and develops new clinical sites to enable program growth.

This position is responsible for clinical placement and onboarding of over 200 undergraduate nursing students in multiple courses each semester; for example, 450 clinical site placements are needed for 200 students each semester. Sites change frequently as do site requirements for onboarding processes.

Communication and organizational skills maintain strong relationships with multiple health care systems including Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Allina, M-Health Fairview, Ecumen, Essentia, Health Partners, Hennepin Health Care, North Memorial, Blue Earth County Public Health, Bloomington Public Health, Watonwan County Public Health, Martin County Public Health, Le Sueur County Public Health, Brown County Public Health, Freeborn County Public Health, and McLeod County Public Health, not only to manage the current sites but also to grow clinical site capacity to facilitate the admission of additional students to the undergraduate nursing program. This position serves as the face of MSU School of Nursing (SON) to the healthcare community and external partners.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in a health-related field plus two years of professional experience in a health-related field. (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze data, and make decisions.

• 
  Demonstrated effective professional human relations, verbal, and written communication skills (e.g.,reports, email).

• 
  Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

• 
  Functional knowledge of database software and management (e.g., FileMaker Pro), word
  processing, web maintenance, and student tracking processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

• Masters degree in a health-related field plus one year of professional experience in a health-related field.

• 
  Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, undergraduate students, agency administrators, and community practitioners from diverse backgrounds.

• 
  Familiarity with nursing clinical practice settings in Minnesota; understanding of primary, acute and tertiary health care settings.

• 
  Experience with on-campus and distance education.

• 
  Experience with project management software and cloud platforms for developing and managing databases and using this technology to evaluate or examine data.

• 
  Experience mentoring students or novice faculty.

• 
  Experience working in an academic or health care setting.

Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes:

• Mobile Work: A position where the employee travels continuously for work, or who performs work at multiple locations outside of an agency office, such as a field location or other site. Up to 40% of the time.
• Telework: A position with a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work on a regular basis at a telework location that is not the employees permanent/principal work location. Up to 40% of the time
