Overview

Position Summary:

The Director of Partnerships & Business Development is responsible for the development, implementation, successful execution, and ongoing management of all third-party Partnerships, including but not limited to Multi-Client Publishers. This position initiates new relationships with potential partners, develops proposals, facilitates contract terms, as well as renewals, for each contractual arrangement. The position is responsible for facilitating direction/information regarding partnerships to all functions of the organization, management of the Partnership Team and oversight over day to day operations. The position will also provide leadership across the company’s M&A activities from initial evaluation through deal execution to post-deal integration activities.


Responsibilities

Key Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Willing to familiarize themselves with the company's vision and mission, seeking to accomplish set program goals and objectives.
  • Conduct industry/market research and have ability to identify new business opportunities in the form of partners or M&A targets.
  • Manage the deal process and the negotiation of deal terms, lead and coordinate due diligence with internal and external teams, and lead deal analytics including financial modeling and valuation analysis.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand and incorporate synergy opportunities and operational risks into business and financial plans
  • Cultivate and expand a network of resale partners and alliance partnerships to drive meaningful, incremental product revenue.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with new partners while maintaining and growing existing partner relationships.
  • Assist with drafting & presenting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference/insights material, and other documents as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurently and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and people skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
  • Oversight and Management of Partnership Teams

Qualifications

Education & Knowledge:

  • Prior leadership and management experience acquired within or outside of company
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business or related field
  • 5-7 years of professional experience
  • Proven track record growing partnerships
  • M&A experience
  • In-depth knowledge & experience within related industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and relevant software
  • Proficiency in most areas of the professional function
  • In-depth specialization in core Clipper vertical and familiarity with company's distribution and targeting platforms preferred.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels within an organization internally and externally
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to think creatively & strategically
  • Agile enough to move from strategic to tactical discussions easily/comfortably
  • Ability to interpret business strategy and translate it into tactical departmental strategies and plans
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Anticipates and prevents problems and challenges before they occur. Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with others
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, oversee multiple projects simultaneously, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Possesses broad conceptual judgment and ability to deal with complex factors not easily evaluated

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Responsible for day-to-day management & operations of Partnership Team and its associates.

Communication & Contacts (Internal/External):

  • Interacts with internal and external clients, peers, and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization
  • Must be able to train and influence others over whom there is no direct authority
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating; strong interpersonal and people skills with the ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, at all levels within and outside of the organization

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Work from home position
  • Travel up to 25% of the time, 5 – 7 days per month
