Position Description: South Lake Brewing Company is looking to hire a few full-time or part-time Dishwashers to help operate our small kitchen by collecting dirty dishes and kitchen equipment and sanitizing and cleaning them at our new location, the Libation Lodge.

No previous work experience is required. This job requires the availability of 20 to 50 hours a week for 2 to 5 days a week. Dishwashers will work at the 2nd tasting room & kitchen - The Libation Lodge - located in the Tahoe Village Center. Persons applying for this position must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language.

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a clean kitchen by properly washing and sorting soiled dishes and kitchen equipment and prep foods if necessary under the direction of the Line Cooks and Head Chef. Our kitchen is roughly 300 square feet in size and the food menu will consist of elevated pub fare with a focus on Pacific Rim cuisine. We will serve primarily large portion shareables/appetizers and hot sandwiches with a mixture of healthy and fried sides.

This job is a paid hourly position at minimum wage (2023 is $15.50/hour) with the ability to earn tips at a certain percentage of the tip pool at the end of each shift. Dishwashers will report to the Head Chef of the Libation Lodge and receive some daily instruction from the Line Cooks and Taproom Managers.
This job will start ideally no later than late-February 2023. Dishwashers are required to pass a minor background check upon accepting the job. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older unless an exception is made by management for younger applicants as long as they have a passion for the company and are willing to work hard and be enthusiastic. Applicants must have a high school diploma, GED, or in the process of obtaining their high school level education.

Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

Maintaining a clean kitchen, properly washing and sorting soiled dishes and kitchen cooking equipment

Keep dish area and kitchen free of clutter and organized

Set up dish stations including dishwashing machines and sinks

Maintains clean & dry floors throughout the shift

Properly wash, stack, and store plates, servingware, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers

Change the water of dishwashing machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business needs, and properly use chemical dilutions set by sanitation and chemical suppliers

Assist fellow kitchen team members in the timely receiving and storing of food deliveries

Maintain trash cans throughout the shift and empty full trash cans at the end of each shift

Maintain the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves of food and cooking supplies

Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties

Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the Head Chef and Line Cooks as needed

Have the ability to multi-task and perform several kitchen tasks simultaneously

Communicate well with fellow team members and management mostly in-person or but sometimes via other methods of communication (phone, email, text, Slack messages, Homebase, etc.)
