Dishwasher - Olive + Oak Job at Olive & Oak

Olive & Oak Webster Groves, MO 63119

Thank you for your interest in joining the kitchen team at Olive + Oak!

We are seeking a part-time dishwasher to round out our back-of-house team heading in to 2023!

Olive + Oak is a three-time James Beard Foundation award-nominated restaurant led by executive chef Jesse Mendica. Open for dinner 7 nights a week, Olive + Oak is a 100% from-scratch kitchen offering food menus that change daily. We are fortunate to be a busy establishment with critical acclaim, having been ranked in the Top 10 restaurants in St. Louis since our inception.

Dishwashers are a crucially important part of our team. Typical responsibilities for dishwashers include:

  • Operate dish machine throughout dinner service
  • Return clean items to their respective places
  • Keep dish station tidy and organized during service
  • Empty dish station trash and recycling at end of service
  • Assist in kitchen elsewhere when needed

Given our high volume, we will typically have 3-4 dishwashers at the dish station each night. This relieves the load on individual dishwashers and makes the job much easier for all!

This is primarily a part-time position, about 2-3 nights per week, however additional hours are almost always available elsewhere in the O+O Hospitality Group. This is a position that requires evening availability as we are only open for dinner. Shifts generally run between 4:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. Weekend availability is strongly preferred for this position.

Pay for this position will be in the range of $15.00 to $18.00 per hour based on relevant professional experience.

Full-time employees will be offered medical, dental, vision, and life insurance after 60 days of employment. Full-time employees also qualify for paid parental leave after one year of service. All employees qualify for paid time off, paid bereavement leave, discounts at all locations in the O+O Hospitality Group, referral bonuses, opportunities for professional advancement, and much more.

The O+O Hospitality Group is a collective of independently owned restaurants in Webster Groves, with 5 locations and over 260 combined employees. When you join the team at Olive + Oak, you’re actually joining a much larger community of culinary and hospitality professionals with whom you’ll interact on a daily basis. Our workplace culture is fun, each day is a new day, and you’ll always be treated with dignity and respect. We love our setup and we think you will too!

Our Core Values

Heartfelt hospitality paired with attentive service

Going out of our way to make our guests feel good is as important to us as serving excellent food. Dining at our restaurant should evoke the excitement of going out, combined with the comfort of coming home. Our dedication to hospitality will create loyal and vocal fans. Our service will ensure our guests want for nothing. Our staff will use a little quick thinking, a little humor, and a lot of heart to make our guests’ experiences unforgettable.

A concerted effort to provide the highest quality experience at the best possible prices will create loyalty and ensure longevity. Our menus, both food and beverage, will be thoughtfully prepared using the best possible products. Every time we serve an item to our guest we want that item to make a lasting, positive impression. Everything is intentional. No aspect of the experience is an afterthought.

Creating a place where people want to work

We all spend a lot of time at work. Our jobs, in many cases, are part of our identity. We believe in creating a culture where people can take pride in what they do and where they work. We will treat people fairly and with respect and we expect the same in return. As with creating a culture of hospitality towards our guests, it takes all of us to create a culture of hospitality towards one another.

Contributing to our community through philanthropy

We believe that by extending our hospitality to our community, we will make our own business stronger. We encourage our employees to become involved in their communities and we support their charitable causes. In addition to the individual efforts by our staff, the O+O Hospitality Group has dedicated time and resources to supporting charities related to congenital heart disease. Our goal is to help leave the world a better place, and when we work to create positive change in our communities, we take a tiny step closer to achieving that goal.
