Dispatcher Job at Timberline Enterprises LLC
The Dispatcher schedules drivers and routes for lumber and material deliveries and serves as the central point of contact for both truck drivers and customers. In this fast-paced job, the Dispatcher is responsible for multiple trucks, customer service, drivers, and routes, which requires extreme attention to detail. They will also monitor trucks and drivers once they are enroute and help if an issue arises with a pickup or delivery. The Dispatcher needs to be highly detailed and work well under pressure to coordinate lots of changing factors.
Dispatcher job duties include:
· Managing truck drivers’ schedules and routes
· Scheduling freight to be picked up and delivered
· Providing shipping details to customers
· Reviewing order and logs of truck drivers
· Documenting all calls, deliveries, routes and times for pickups and deliveries
· Completing paperwork related to shipments, such as invoices
· Handling customer complaints and inquiries
· Overseeing lumber yard and responsible for 4-6 employees
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of trucking regulations and laws
· Understanding of how shipping, trucking, and logistics work
· Analytical skillsto problem-solve and coordinate difficult situations
· Ability to handle upset customers
· Technology skills, particularly in transportation management software
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Excellent communication skills to clearly relay information to all involved parties
· Ability to stay calm in fast-paced situations
· Previous truck driving experience a plus!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.25 - $22.00 per hour
