Eastman Kodak Company is looking for an entry-to-junior level Scientist/Engineer to join our Advanced Materials and Coatings team in Rochester, NY.

Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this position will be development/improvement and optimization of new or existing dispersion processes, scale-up and manufacturing support. Work with customers and technicians to develop new and support existing products. Development involves laboratory and pilot scale with transfer to manufacturing. Product commercialization will follow a defined process working with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize dispersion manufacturing processes by designing and performing experiments in the laboratory and pilot scales using customer parameters, transfer and implementing recommendations at production scale
  • Use of statistical models to develop and improve processes for dispersion production
  • Support and/or troubleshoot production dispersion processes, quality issues, management of change, etc., in conjunction with dispersion manufacturing team
  • Collaborate with R&D product formulators to develop, scale up and align dispersion products
  • Oversee operation of the dispersion process laboratory
  • Interact with business and operations personnel on a routine basis
  • Provide input on technical issues to co-workers and teams
  • Supervise technicians, organize workflow, including project management
  • Adhere to safe work practices
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of designed experimentation and statistical data analysis desired
  • Ability to work both self-guided and as part of a team
  • Comfortable with a hands-on experimentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Key Skills/Competencies:
  • Document findings from lab experimentation, experimental designs, interpret data, generate conclusions and work with team to ensure knowledge sharing and transfer
  • Broad chemistry background (colorants, dispersions, polymers, milling)
  • Provide project leadership and ability to work effectively with a lab team
  • Ability to present data, analysis and progress towards completion of projects in group settings
