The District Manager is responsible for directly overseeing multiple high-volume convenience stores. Responsibilities include full profit and loss accountability, increasing sales, managing operations, controlling expenses, labor dollar and hour budgets, handling personnel issues, back-office accounting, merchandising, loss prevention, and overall store appearance and presentation.

The District Manager assists General Managers in the daily operations of the store, troubleshoots problems, and generally supports the Store Management Team. It is the District Manager’s direct responsibility to ensure that company policies are followed and to serve as a liaison between the Corporate Office and C-Store level employees.

District Managers are also ultimately responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the stores. A District Manager is a leader, coach, and role model, who must solve problems, make informed decisions, and provide excellent feedback to help manage their workforce and use their time wisely to achieve maximum efficiency and results.

Duties & Responsibilities Detail:

  • Oversee compliance of General Managers with established Company policies and standards, such as safekeeping of Company funds and property, personnel practices, security, sales and record-keeping procedures, and overall maintenance of the stores by performing required DM audits.
  • Manages and assigns tasks to General Managers appropriately to ensure the site is clean and adequately stocked.
  • Ensures General Managers and their employees give the highest level of customer service.
  • Work with the VP of Retail to ensure proper food handling, food promotions, portion control are being accomplished.
  • Review operational reports, monitor store profitability, control unit expenditures, and monitor inventory, cash, and deposits, as well as manage labor budgets.
  • Coordinate sales promotions and pricing/tagging of merchandise to maximize sales.
  • Oversee preparation of merchandise placement and displays with proper POS.
  • Communicate with upper management to ensure that the correct company standards and operating procedures are being followed in the stores and work to develop updated procedures in coordination with the VP of Retail Operations.
  • Travels as necessary locally as well as overnight stays.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of convenience or retail management experience.
  • A current valid driver’s license.
