Job Description:
The Drafting Manager oversees the drafting team and all drafting activities for the company. The position will play a vital role in transitioning and supporting the team from 2D AutoCAD to 3D Inventor drawings. The Drafting Manager will work closely with engineering, sales, and production teams to ensure company quality standards are upheld.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is located in an office environment. Interaction within the office, other Highland Tank locations is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to retrieve files and move about in an office environment.
Direct Reports:
Drafting team.
FLSA Status:
This position qualifies for the Administrative Exemption under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The Drafting Manager oversees the drafting team and all drafting activities for the company. The Drafting Manager will work closely with engineering, sales, and production teams to ensure company quality standards are upheld.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure drafting team meets the needs of customers and inside sales representatives.
- Implement best practices within the drafting department to support existing business and operational process.
- Facilitate change within the drafting department to balance business continuity and drafting quality.
- Establish and maintain standards and procedures for models and drawings.
- Support production personnel by providing accurate drawings containing appropriate information to support the needs of our ERP system.
- Apply knowledge of design, modeling, and drawing practices to lead your team to solve design issues with the Engineering team.
- Provide excellent customer service for all employees and customers.
- Perform other tasks as directed by upper management.
- Degree in CAD, Planning, Engineering, or other science related field OR Minimum of 8 years in a Modeling/Drafting lead role
- Minimum of 5 years of drawing experience with AutoCad and Inventor
- Ability to travel to all corporate locations (travel 4-6 weeks per year). May be greater during first year.
