This individual’s primary responsibility will be to drive clients to area appointments and activities as needed. This individual is responsible for providing a positive role model for the clients to emulate. The Driver is responsible for a variety of routine, basic tasks essential to the smooth operation of the residences. Other duties associated with this position facilitate the treatment and rehabilitation of the residential client by assisting clients in overcoming anxieties, explaining available services, obtaining client cooperation and encouraging program involvement.

Responsibilities:

· Transport and or pick up clients for appointments and activities as needed; as well as deliver correspondence, contracts and packages when required. Maryville services all twenty-one (21) counties in New Jersey therefore travel can be to all parts of Northern and Southern New Jersey.

· Completely maintain agency vehicle, by monitoring routine services (i.e. tune-ups, tire rotation, car washing etc.)

· Maintains order and ensures compliance with rules and regulations; ensures that clients conduct themselves in an orderly manner when on agency property or in agency vehicles.

· Monitor clients for signs of medical distress and/or behavioral concerns on an ongoing basis and through routine bed checks, and addresses and documents where necessary.

· Provide transportation for clients having outside meetings or appointments.

· Review clients’ weekly schedules for appointments, group work and individual sessions; obtains schedule requests from clients.

· Respond appropriately to all medical and other emergencies.

· Provide safe operation and maintenance of vehicles entrusted to their care.

· Performs daily tour of perimeter of the facility to verify security of Maryville, Inc. property and client accountability.

· Performs other duties, tasks, and services as assigned.

Education/Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED, knowledge of D&A Abuse and treatment with two (2) years’ experience.

· Ability to work effectively with clients and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems.

· Valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record and five years of driving experience.

· Knowledge of particular skill area such as recreation, maintenance and clearing, transportation, safety and security, facility departments, etc.

Monday-Thursday (7:00 AM-3:00 PM); Friday (8:00 AM-4:00 PM)
