is a licensed childcare center seeking a Lead GSRP Teacher for our Hunt Elementary and Dibble Elementary locations! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic candidate who is passionate about early childhood education. Compensation:
$35,000 - $40,000 annually, based on experience or education *$1,500 Sign on Bonus*


Shift: Monday – Friday

Basic Function:

Under the direction of the Program Director, plan, organize and implement both approved and developmentally appropriate curriculum to enhance the growth and development of children enrolled in the program. The teacher must provide a safe and nurturing environment that is conducive to the growth, learning, and success of children.

Representative Duties:

  • Plan, organize and implement approved curriculum for the development of children enrolled in the program; develop goals and objectives consistent with student needs.
  • Involve parents and families in student activities; participate in parent conferences; provide information concerning individual student progress.
  • Observe children during classroom activities; document and record individual and group observations; maintain child observation records according to established guidelines.
  • Administer individual student assessments according to established guidelines.
  • Participate in program evaluation through analysis of student assessment, individual classroom environment and parent survey results.
  • Develop lesson plans in accordance with established policies; set up and prepare materials to promote student learning.
  • Plan and organize functional and attractive classroom displays that directly relate to established curriculum.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, attractive and positive learning environment: provide an appropriate climate which assists children in making a satisfactory transition from home to preschool and reinforces positive attitudes and social skills.
  • Attend meetings and participate in training workshops, conferences, courses and a variety of professional growth activities as required; provide parent education concerning child development.
  • Monitor, observe, and interact with children during indoor and outdoor play activities to promote student learning.
  • Monitor the health of preschool students and administer basic first aid, perform other health and safety related functions; notify appropriate personnel and health related issues as necessary.
  • Provide training and work direction to assistants; participate in evaluation as requested.
  • Demonstrate appropriate adult/child interactions.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Of:

  • Concepts of child growth, development, and behavior characteristics.
  • Early childhood curriculum areas and appropriate methods of implementation.
  • Strengths in the following areas: cultural sensitivity, maintenance of a clean, safe and orderly classroom, record-keeping strategies, oral and written communication skills, regulatory requirements and rules, working effectively as a team.

Ability To:

  • Plan, organize and implement approved curriculum for the development of children enrolled in the program

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or child development OR a bachelor's degree with a valid Michigan teaching certificate and either a ZS or ZS endorsement that has been added onto the degree.
