St. Croix Health is hiring for a ED Registrar/Switchboard Operator. This position is part-time, 20 hours per week. This role will work 2nd and 3rd shifts. There is a weekend rotation once a month for 3rd shift 11pm-7am.

Under the supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, the ED Registrar/Switchboard operator welcomes patients and visitors upon arrival to the registration desk with professionalism while responding and communicating urgent matters to appropriate teams. The ED registration is responsible for obtaining patient demographics, insurance and appropriate consent/signatures. ED registration and switchboard works closely with the ED nursing staff, providers and other ancillary areas dependent on the needs of the patient. The role of the Switchboard operator is to be an effective communication center for patients, staff and outside organizations. The responsibilities include: intake of calls, monitoring on-call schedules, local county dispatch, facility alarms and overhead paging, ambulance communication and other clerical tasks. This is considered a flex position sharing the registration and operator role.

Experience:

• Previous telecommunication experience preferred
• Prior hospital/clinical experience preferred
