Summary: The Safety Manager is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees.
This person will work closely with the VP of Operations, Plant Managers, and HR regarding company-wide EHS compliance and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures and schedule routine inspections, communication, and educational information regarding Safety.
- Drafts inspection reports documenting inspections findings
- Inspects all Filterbuy facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks and ensure deficiencies are mitigated and corrected.
- Provide employee safety training on workplace safety, company policies, regulations, and emergency procedures, partnering with HR as needed.
- Maintain accurate and current records per company guidelines and make them readily accessible when needed, including all certifications.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.
- Able to conduct root cause analysis regarding safety incidents and provide solutions to mitigate reoccurrences.
- Prepares and files OSHA-related logs for compliance.
- Oversees company-wide Safety Committee Program.
- Guides the Managers and Supervisors by the site to ensure a common and practical approach to safety compliance.
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety, and Health or a related field is recommended.
- 3-5 years of EHS experience working in a Manufacturing environment and management background.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, organization, and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to travel to our manufacturing facilities as needed, up to 30% of the time.
