Summary
- This position is responsible for providing EHS expertise to support the delivery of Hollister EHS Programs in like with the EHS strategy. This position is also responsible for site safety metrics and establishing or revising programs compliant with existing Company standards and related OSHA requirements to include the development and implementation of Company environmental, health, and safety programs
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and site strategy.
- Lead the EHS risk assessment, accident investigation and training programs.
- Perform data analysis to support the organization in the implementation of EHS goals and objectives.
- Maintain health & safety records and required environmental permits, licenses, and documents.
- Manage EHS reporting requirements.
- Establish and/or revise site EHS policies, practices, and expectations.
- Provide support and review local EHS programs such as electrical safety, office ergonomics, lock out tag out, lab safety, hazard communication and chemical safety, waste management, LOTO, Hazard Communication, Emergency Response, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, and Hearing Conservation as needed.
- Manage and maintain the facility’s safety metrics.
- Maintain and monitor MSDS requirements as it relates to HAZCOM plans.
- Establish internal and external safety networks to drive continuous improvement efforts relative to the Company’s EHS programs.
- Partner with associates to determine the source of problems and provide a working solutions to prevent accidents and to meet business needs.
- Partner with leaders to investigate EHS incidents to include determining root cause, establishing and implementing actions or prevent reoccurrence.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Work Experience
5+ years of safety experience in a site level environment.
Education Requirement
- B.S. / B.A in environmental, occupational health and safety, engineering, or equivalent (biology, chemistry, etc) is preferred. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Specialized Skills/ Techincal Knowledge:
- Experience implementing and maintaining EHS regulatory programs.
- Knowledge of OSHA and environmental requirements is required. Demonstrated Subject Matter Expertise in one or more core technical EHS programs (i.e., Electrical Safety, contractor safety, Lockout Tagout, Hazardous Waste Management, and Root Cause Analysis Investigation skills).
- Proven ability to prioritize, set clear objectives when faced with conflicting demands and stakeholders, develop and execute effective strategies, and develop and support strategies that integrate continuous improvement methodologies into site
- Ability to develop relationships, partner and work effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Experience developing and implementing management systems programs
- Demonstrated interest and dedication to EHS profession through connection to external professional organizations and/or Professional certification preferred (CHMM, CSP, qualified EHS auditor, QEP, etc.)
