The EH&S Specialist leads the plant in various health and safety practices and programs designed to safeguard all associates in the working environment, which is conducive to their wellbeing. The EH&S Specialist recommends specific actions to ensure the plant complies with all federal, state and local laws related to the health and safety of all associates and the protection of the environment. The EH&S Specialist will provide support and project management toward the attainment of objectives relative to EH&S, corporate liability, risk reduction and environmental improvements.

Ensure that all required Environmental, Health and Safety programs are in place and are compliant with federal, state, local and customer requirements.

Manage the continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety inititiatives that support the business objectives.

Associate relations – work with associates to verify that they are aware of the safety requirements for their area of responsibility. This will be completed through training, newsletters, safety commmittee, verbal & written communication and standard operating procedures. Also, work with associates on effective ways to improve safety throughout the business.

Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous material, fire, medical, and security incidents. Investigate accidents/incidents and report on findings. Identify root cause and make recommendations for corrective actions. Manage the OSHA recordable process, and claims mangement concerning Workers’ Compensation claims.

Conduct environmental and safety audits, obtain EPA permits and submit reports as required. Maintain ISO 14001 certification.

Associate Degree, or equivalent training and experience

Proven experience leading the safety and environmental programs in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to identify all legal obligations and bring the business in compliance for all Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.

Pay: $54,169.50 - $85,000.00 per year
