REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Vocational/technical certification in electric work preferred
• Must possess and maintain a Florida Driver’s License
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in electrical work, preferable in a commercial environment
• Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installs, maintains, alters, repairs and replaces various electrical and mechanical equipment (e.g., wiring systems, electrical systems, switch panels, flood lights, security lights, kitchen equipment, electrical motors).
• Installs conduit, adds switches; installs switches, receptacles, ballast, and replaces lamps.
• Supports “system checkout” and preventative maintenance on building automation systems.
• Operates manual, electrical and specialized tools.
• Reads, interprets and/or utilizes various blueprints, drawings, diagrams, cut sheets, and technical/electrical manuals.
• Ensures all work is performed in compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Operates heavy equipment and machinery as designated by the assigned work area.
• Maintains various records and reports (e.g., job records, parts inventory, supply lists, work orders).
• Maintains inventory supply for parts, equipment, machinery and tools; procures necessary items.
• Accurately documents time and materials utilized to complete work orders.
• Assists other trade workers with special projects, as assigned.
• Provides 24-hour emergency support, as required.
• Utilizes current technology, as appropriate, to perform job functions and participates in training programs offered to increase technology skill level and proficiency related to job assignment.
