They need an experienced Embedded Linux Developer able to design, develop, enhance, and maintain software systems built for the industrial controls market. Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Work with little or no technical oversight and provide technical oversight as needed.
- Work effectively as a member of a team or provide mentorship opportunities.
- Troubleshoot issues involving Industrial Control Processors (CPU) on a variety of Embedded Real-time operating systems
- Design, implement, and document corrections to existing software.
- Analyze, design, implement, and document new features and improvements to existing software.
- Participate in product definition, specification, and requirements analysis.
- Participate in the development and maintenance (full life cycle) of new products or independently develop them as appropriate.
- Build and revise the control
- Apply the principles, techniques, and best practices of computer science and engineering
- Participate in, and support where necessary, all phases of testing.
- Create and maintain system design and implementation documentation consistent with the needs of the team.
- Support the user documentation team, providing source documentation as needed.
- Participate in software pre- and post-release activities
Qualifications:
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux development with C/C++
- Managing and maintaining a custom distribution
- Linux security and patch management
- Multi-threaded programming and applications
- Linux networking and network protocols
- Experience with common peripherals and Linux device tree (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, etc.)
- Linux driver debugging and performance analysis
- Linux kernel configuration and build system knowledge
- Linux Bootloaders (U-Boot, GRUB, etc.)
- Familiarity with using and configuring Board Support Packages(BSP)
- Git version control
- CI/CD tools
Preferred:
- Experience with Yocto on custom boards
- Experience developing Linux on PLCs
- Comfortable with common lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.)
- Familiarity with industrial protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- Familiarity with IoT protocols and common IoT platforms (MQTT, AWS IoT, etc.)
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Experience with FreeRTOS
- Experience developing PCIe drivers
