Summary of Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Employer Relations Manager, this individual interacts with employers to create off campus, part-time employment opportunities. This job also involves tracking job offers and placement of students in part-time positions for grant purposes. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with assigned projects for career fairs, Information Sessions and hosting employers on campus.

  • 35% - Connects with employers through email, telephone, virtual visits or on-campus visits to promote CDC services and UVU students with the intent to increase part-time job opportunities off campus.

  • 25% - Assists Employer Relations Manager in preparing for and conducting Employer Relations functions for all virtual and on-campus recruiting events (Career & Internship Fairs, STEM Fairs, Part-Time Student Job Fairs and other recruiting opportunities).

  • 20% - Provides employer assistance in the use of the UVU recruiting platform, Handshake. This involves assisting employers in setting up user accounts, posting positions, preparation for recruiting events and problem solving. Coordinates employer and job approvals on Handshake. Answers questions and solves issues for employers. Assists in ensuring recruiters on campus follow the On Campus Recruiting Protocols. Various reporting including Job Approval Yearly Comparisons and Employer Approval Yearly Comparisons.

  • 20% - Heads the tracking of job offers and placement of students in part-time positions for grant purposes. Other duties as assigned by the Employer Relations Manager

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling three years.

  • Understanding of and previous use of Handshake.
  • Competent at using Microsoft Word, Outlook or Publisher
  • Proven strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills particularly business email and telephone communications.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to interact with recruiters and other business representatives.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, able to work well without supervision.
  • Extremely organized and able to work well with deadlines.
  • Time management skills and exceptional multi-tasking skills.
  • Comfortable on the computer using Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Must be very dependable and able to work specific hours during the day.
  • Periodic flexibility with hours needed when recruiting events are held.
  • Able to work well as a team and willing to assist others.
  • Able to learn quickly but willing to ask questions.
  • Ability to follow written and oral procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with current and potential employers.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
