BOSTON/ANDOVER LOCATION- Enel North America works closely with businesses and institutions to develop, execute, and continually refine a holistic energy strategy. The Customer Insights team achieves desired outcomes through a suite of solutions and services. Energy analysts are tasked with architecting strategies, working in tandem with internal resources on their delivery, and becoming an energy expert in their assigned region(s). You’ have a firm understanding of the underlying market fundamentals; marker drivers, renewable market conditions, generation footprint, regulatory environment, utility cost models, etc.


Successful candidates will be analytical, possess deep energy market expertise, provide thought leleadership, and have strong customer presentation skills.

What You'll Do at Enel::

Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:


Subject Matter Expert

  • Become an expert in assigned region(s)
  • Work in tandem with internal Advisors and Energy Procurement Managers (EPMs) to deliver deep technical, regional, regulatory, and commodity expertise to a portfolio of clients
  • Formulate recommendations to guide clients’ supply strategy and approach in North America energy markets
  • Educate and provide guidance to internal / external stakeholders via written reports, conference calls and client meetings in-person as needed
Analytics
  • Develop, enhance, and leverage existing internal tools to support and deliver customer analytics: energy budgets, variance to budget, savings from default service, tariff analysis, pricing indices, procurement summary analytics and more;
  • Develop price forecasts and make market analysis recommendation to clients
  • Work to identify market derived buying opportunities and proactively inform stakeholders
  • Assist in the bid analysis for customer RFPs
  • Validate supplier pricing against live market intel to make best choice for customer
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain models to forecast and analyze customer energy usage, spend, wholesale markets, tariffs etc.
  • Produce both recurring and ad-hoc deliverables/analytics, and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
Thought Leadership / Market Intelligence
  • Write and report content on topics including, but not limited to fundamentals commentary, price drivers, regulatory changes etc. Act as lead author for respective region(s) and contribute to monthly, weekly & ad-hoc energy market content.
  • Monitor market conditions in assigned region(s) and proactively socialize opportunities, risks and other notable developments
  • Work hand-in-hand with manager and Marketing to periodically provide bespoke thought leadership to the broader marketplace such as webinars, video blogs, and white paper
Who You Are::
  • Hands on experience analyzing and interpreting energy usage data, electric tariffs and wholesale energy market data
  • Strong Excel skills, experience with database queries and cost modeling
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intellection: introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions
  • Problem solving: an ability to think things through with incomplete data
  • Analytical: ability to think about all the factors that might affect a situation
  • Able to clearly explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable as a team player or working independently. Takes initiative. Self-directed.

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of electric cost components, wholesale market dynamics, and RTO pricing in US energy markets such as PJM, NYISO, ISONE, or MISO.
  • Experience with power or gas retail price structuring, forecasting, or risk management
  • Experience in a client-facing role
  • Experience working with electric utilities
  • Experience with Tableau, or other data visualization software
  • Working knowledge of SQL, R, Python a plus
What You've Accomplished::
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, finance or other technical discipline
  • 1 - 3 years of professional experience in the US deregulated power industry
