Job Description
Grace is looking for a qualified Entry Level Chemical Engineer to join our team at our Tyrone, Pennsylvania site. The Tyrone Site produces a portfolio of products including specialty pharmaceutical and agricultural chemicals, refinery catalysts, and performance chemicals. Consisting of a pilot plant and custom manufacturing at the commercial volumes, the site is fully equipped to develop and manufacture custom chemicals. Tyrone is located in central Pennsylvania within twenty-five minutes of Penn State University. The function of the Chemical Engineer is to work on improvements on process design, process development and process trouble shooting. This position reports to the Process Technology Manager at Tyrone. Under the direction of the Process Technology Manager, the Chemical Engineer will develop and implement safety, quality, environmental and profit improvement projects.
Responsibilities
The Chemcial Engineer has the primary responsibility for ensuring that assigned processes in the plant run safely and effectively. Process engineers are also responsible for overseeing the set-up of process runs in the plant. Other common tasks will include:
- Creation of P&IDs
- Programming interlocks and alarms
- Overseeing inspection of process equipment
- Working with other members or process team to drive continuous process improvement
- Leading general plant projects around the site
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Chemical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years related technical experience
