JOB SUMMARY:
To be part of the New Product Development Team and support NPD projects as they move through development by managing the purchasing of manufacturing goods, materials, and services with selected and approved suppliers at competitive pricing.


PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Purchasing

  • Manage delivery schedules of purchased goods or services to the overall project timeline.
  • Process requisitions for supplies and or capital equipment
  • Order materials from MRP or ROP signals for new programs
  • Create and oversee new item set up and configuration
  • Collecting of supplier and materials info needed for new program supply chain (re)designs
  • Implement SMC supply chain design methodology with all new NPD programs teams
  • Oversight of NPD raw material inventory including dispositioning of inactive NPD inventories
  • Attend NPD project meetings in accordance to project management schedule.
  • Manage and ensure seamless handoff of purchasing requirements to site Production Purchasing group.
  • Assist Production Purchasing group and Manufacturing Buyers when needed.
  • Resolve supplier invoicing issues for Accounts Payable
  • Resolve receiving issues including collection of CoC and POD’s from supplies
  • Assist the Supply Quality Engineer in new and existing supplier audits as required.
  • Ensure approvals are in place when relevant to raw material price increases
  • Support the commodity categorization process to enable accurate spend reporting.
  • Support item categorization processes to enable RFQ’s and supplier pricing analyses
  • Coordinate supplier performance monitoring and corrective actions for NPD & Production Buyers
  • Collect and maintain supplier material specifications and data sheets
  • Participates in continuous improvement programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Management, Engineering or a related field and a minimum of two years of experience in procurement / sourcing in a manufacturing environment, OR a two year degree and six years relevant experience.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of lean operations tools.


Desirable Qualifications

  • CPIM certification
  • Experience working in IQMS
  • Experience with ISO procedures and practices relating to ISO 13485


ADA Requirements

  • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
  • Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally
  • Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
  • Travel by air or car occasionally
