What would I be doing?:
Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar Kansas City has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, six amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel, an on-site childcare center and much more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar Kansas City is seeking an Entertainment Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning and execution of entertainment offerings on behalf of Ameristar Casino Kansas City. Works directly with the Director of Entertainment and the property to support the Star Pavilion and all other entertainment offerings. Responsible for the proper execution of show contracts, show advancing, and reporting of results. Manages Entertainment staff for Ameristar Casino Kansas City. The ultimate objective of the role is to develop and offer entertainment as a visitation and revenue generator to help increase company and property profits. The candidate will also oversee casino-wide entertainment based technology applications related to lighting, audio and video. Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute contracts to ensure the successful delivery of entertainment offerings.
  • Work with the Director of Entertainment to assess ticket scaling/pricing opportunities and execute upon contract signing.
  • Advance headliner shows including making arrangements for transportation, rooms, food and beverage, dressing, hospitality, and Green Rooms.
  • Manage the Showroom and Box Office staff to ensure the high levels of customer satisfaction, promotion of entertainment offerings, ticket sales, and concert execution.
  • Work with Corporate and Property Marketing to ensure the successful planning and delivery of entertainment advertising (print and broadcast), outdoor, signage, collateral, PR, etc.
  • Work with the Production Director and teams to fulfill any special requests as required by contracts.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of vendor registrations, insurance requirements, check requests, and payment deliveries.
  • Coordinate all ’meet & greet’ opportunities with Property Marketing/Player Development and Tour Managers.
  • Maintain a contract tracking log with all current contract status and costs.
  • Work with Entertainment Operations Manager for all Ticketmaster pre-sales, ticket holds, marketing holds, comp/artist blocks, and final ticket report/audit. Prepare and circulate post performance ticket summaries.
  • Work with Property Marketing for printing and distributing casino tickets.
  • Communicate with Entertainment and Property teams to ensure understanding, preparation, marketing, and successful execution of entertainment offerings.
  • Provide ticket count, as contractually required, to talent agencies are required.
  • Prepare and circulate weekly entertainment reports for property management.
  • Circulate monthly entertainment artist fact schedule to departments.
  • Liaison with all contract entertainment and venue rental (four-wall) promoters for select properties.
  • Attend meetings with property management and Entertainment staff.
  • Provide suggestions for appropriate entertainment offerings, strategies, and operations to maximize profitability.
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Establish contact with the artist’s Road/Production Manager to coordinate load in times, sound checks, crew calls and back line requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring all of the company owned equipment is properly maintained.
  • Working directly with Facilities, ensure that property appearance and “energy” are properly maintained through the frequent review of facility lighting and audio.
  • In partnership with I.T. and Casino Operations oversee all video and audio installations and maintenance.
  • Manage property A/V needs for group sales including setup/teardown and billing and equipment maintenance.
What are we looking for?:
  • Minimum two (2) years in a similar management role strongly preferred.
  • Must be a proficient user of personal computers and departmentally- utilized software programs.
  • Must have excellent communication, customer service, and negotiating skills.
  • Must be detailed-oriented and highly organized.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts to accommodate events.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and or/licenses.
