Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Transfers product from the production line to shipping boxes for storage and shipment of product. Works 12 hour rotating shifts.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Transfers product to work table. 45% - 90%
Transfers product from production line trim press table to the packing worktable. Measures stack length by using measuring marks on the trim press table for proper packaging. Uses propane torch to burn the rough edges and plastic “hairs” of the product. Uses compressed air hose to remove any remaining melted material from the product. May rotate with packer that transfers to shipping boxes.

Transfers product from the packing worktable to the shipping boxes. Uses torch to burn the rough edges and plastic “hairs” of the product. Uses compressed air hose to remove any remaining melted material from the product. May rotate with packer that transfers product from the trim press table to the packing worktable.
Performs ancillary packing duties. 10%
Form and transfer cardboard shipping boxes, lids and gaylords to the pallet lift. Transfers pallets from stack to the pallet lift. Places plastic bags in the shipping boxes and gaylords. Places lab Calls on intercom for forklift to transfer completed pallets to staging area. May clean work area by sweeping and dusting. May cut the sheets of plates to stop production.

Torch, Gloves and sleeves, air hose and nozzle, hook knife, pallet lift, tape gun, step stool
OTHER WORK AIDS USED:
Worktable – 34” height, trim press table – 39” – 41” height, plastic dividers, bulk bags
MATERIALS HANDLED/DAY:
Trays – 100,000 – 200,000/shift in stacks of 45 – 225 trays or
Sleeves of trays weigh 5# - 25#.
~450 sleeve stacks to ~2,700 stacks per shift depending on product and line.
Pallets (2 people handle) average ~50#; probably range 35# - 60# in weight.
Boxes and gaylords ~5# - 20#
2 pack boxes of product weigh 42# and lifted floor to 21” occasionally
Labels - ~3#
Boxes of product up to 108# (lifted by 2 people) 18” – 28” height, 0 – 2 reps/shift
