ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical, 15% Adult Basic Education, 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Green River's service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans, among other communities.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Enumclaw Campus Director reports to the Dean of Branch Locations, Academic and Program Development. The campus offers a range of credit and non-credit instructional programs, room rentals and related student support services. As Director, this position plays a critical role in assessing, maintaining, and generating self-support revenue for the division/campus. The director provides administrative oversight and oversees all activities at the Enumclaw campus. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Position Responsibilities

Day to Day Operations

  • Provide overall management and operational oversight for the Enumclaw Campus.
  • Provide additional support for other branch locations as needed.
  • Cultivate and maintain cooperative relationships with campus departments to include: Student Affairs, facilities, public information, IT, Workforce and instructional divisions.
  • Responsible for overall facilities operations and safety – building systems, external contractors, College facilities provided services, emergency contacts and protocol for 7x24 coverage. This includes planning and implementation of safety and emergency protocol/procedures in collaboration with Campus Safety, Facilities, Emergency Operations and Environmental Safety Committees.
  • Hire and Supervise support staff and organize support services for all instructional programs.
  • Works with the Small Business Center to offer one-on-one advising, small business development classes, and secure contract training opportunities.
  • Work with College Relations to develop and maintain effective marketing strategies to promote credit and non-credit instructional programs and rental services held at branch location.
  • Develops and maintains records and reporting requirements for accountability and program success.
  • Responsible for all rental activities including revenue generation, managing contracts and services

Student Centered Decision Making

  • Support the college in Guided Pathways efforts; helping students clarify and stay on the path by creating faculty and student sense of belonging on campus
  • Collaborate with Enumclaw School District and College outreach department to increase awareness of program offerings including credit, non-credit and Youth Academy programs at Enumclaw locations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve policies, processes, and procedures to enhance learning experience and retention, and pursue these opportunities at Enumclaw campus in collaboration with Student Affairs.
  • Collaborate with Retention and Completion office to identify and implement holistic support strategies at the Enumclaw campus
  • Collaborates with Chairs, Deans, and faculty to develop, coordinate, and schedule credit and non-credit program delivery.
  • Work with campus departments to schedule and provide student-centered services such as adult re-engagement, enrollment services, assessment opportunities, tutoring, IT services, and bookstore services.
  • Collaborate with the Continuing and Community Education (CE) office to offer self-support professional continuing education, job training, and personal enrichment classes, including scheduling and promoting within the community
  • Work with Institutional Effectiveness for data collection and evaluation to maintain recording and reporting requirements for accountability and program success.

Responsiveness to Our Diverse Communities

  • Research and assess training needs in the community.
  • Assisting the Dean of Branch Locations and collaborating with the Grant Development Office, identify and pursue grant funding opportunities that includes writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals.
  • Collaborate with community and college partner organizations such as local school districts or local businesses activities that may be housed at branch campus locations.
  • Support and espouse the college mission, goals, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serving as liaison for Dean of Branch Locations by representing the college and engaging with local community boards, or other partnering entities such as City Council, the Chamber of Commerce, and other civic organizations.
  • Based on division strategic plans, conduct community-based related activities such as preparing and leading community forums.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of College instructional program development
  • Strong technical abilities with computers, software applications and databases
  • Experience with budgetary management
  • Prior experience in community engagement with diverse populations related to program development.
  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse populations
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills for both one-on-one interactions and group presentations in both written and verbal communication.
  • Independently write and edit reports, newsletters, and e-mail messages for internal and external distribution
  • Provide timely responses to faculty, staff and student requests
  • Ability to work cross functionally and identify areas for improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify and undertake additional tasks as needed to ensure safety of faculty, staff and students
  • Established competencies in generating new ideas, concepts, or methods to improve service, programs, or operations and in presenting these to staff and students
  • Ability to produce and implement timelines, guidelines and accountability measures for initiative and goal achievement

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Business, Education, or related field
  • Minimum two years of management and/or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Demonstrated first-rate interpersonal skills both one-on-one and in a group
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Effectively use written and oral skills to convey ideas, facts and information to staff and diverse student populations
