JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the control and movement of equipment to meet the demand requirements of internal and external customers. Manages equipment interchange agreements and associated insurance policies. Monitor equipment availability and disseminate utilization information to all receiving areas. Continually monitors and reports overdue equipment to appropriate personnel. Forecast trends in equipment usage and reports potential problems to management. Creates and implements work processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the productivity of Equipment Control staff
  • Review weekly time and attendance for Equipment Control employees
  • Prepare employee schedules for 1 month in advance for Equipment Control
  • Manage and promote excellent customer service
  • Coach and manage warehouse personnel
  • Contribute to a development plan for each employee
  • Review annual reviews with each employee
  • Manage the Equipment Control physical inventor for discrepancy
  • Manage the weekly notification process for FCL
  • Manage and resolve any seal discrepancy on container release
  • Manage the preparation of weekend operations
  • Report and bill for equipment damages
  • Manage and bill for equipment rental, sales, and services
  • Prepare sublease rental agreement for signature
  • Manage the trucker’s insurance requirements and expiration
  • Manage and submit new interchange agreement for review
  • Manage the overdue equipment in the KPI system
  • Review the Equipment Control department procedures and job responsibilities for improvement
  • Review and resolve issues with demurrage billing-Veconinter
  • Manage demurrage billing for local customers
  • Manage overdue equipment in the yard for return to origin or turn time
  • Manage chassis availability in yard/street pool
  • Prepare Veconinter billing invoice monthly
  • Audit Veconinter billing
  • Prepare notification for DCF I yard for top accounts
  • Schedule monthly department staff meetings
  • Manage the truckers with memos to keep up to date
  • Monitor and report equipment damages in Octupi

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

3 years experience in warehouse management, including cargo handling. Experience in equipment interchange functions and management of equipment inventory control.

LICENSE:

Valid VI driver’s license

PHYSICAL:

Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods daily. Ability to climb in and out of containers and lift up to 100lbs when necessary. Ability to withstand warehouse environmental conditions for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks on a computer and type 30 wpm.

Pay: $57,324.37 - $74,521.68 per year
