We are looking for someone to join the Fair Market Events team as a part time Event Porter. Event Porters are responsible for the cleanliness of the entire event space including restrooms, public areas, Back of House, exterior public space, office, and any other specified area. Porters are also responsible for the restock of guest restroom amenities and cleaning supplies and must ensure a thorough inventory control of these products. This position is scheduled on an as-needed basis, typically evenings and weekends with flexible scheduling, making it a perfect supplement to other employment. Pay rate: $18.00 / hour.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• One (1) year related experience in hospitality or service industry
• High school education preferred
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or guests

Job Requirements:

• Responsible for continual cleaning of restrooms, public areas, exteriors and Back of House
• Continually maintain inventory of paper products, cleaning supplies and guest amenities to ensure adequate supplies in accordance with established par levels and timeframe
• Responsible for completing a venue checklist for each event to which you are assigned
• Notify General Manager and/or Manager on Duty about any facilities that need to be placed out of order for maintenance concerns
• Maintain the storage rooms with at least one (1) par clean at all times
• Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests
• Maintain constant communication between all departments
• Possess knowledge of all venue services and amenities
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
• Keep abreast of safety and OSHA requirements
• Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures
• Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
• The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
• The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
