Reporting to the President of FPI, the Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the senior management executive and works closely with the President of FPI/Dean of School of Medicine to fully develop and implement the organization’s long-term strategic plan. Establishes and executes the major goals and objectives of the organization, operationalizes FPI’s strategic vision through allocation of resources and leadership of employees, and coordinates and collaborates with School of Medicine and University of Maryland Medical System to achieve Practice Plan priorities. The EVP and CAO has direct executive responsibility for developing, executing, and managing the organization’s operating plan and budget. The EVP and CAO is responsible for the internal administration and overall administrative leadership of the organization. Maintains close relationships with businesses, regulatory and government organizations as well as School of Medicine, University of Maryland Medical System, and other related entities. Interprets and implements policies and directives from the Board. Develops and maintains an effective organizational structure and reporting relationships
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in health administration, business administration or related field
- Ten years’ progressive management experience in a health care leadership role preferably in an academic setting, with a minimum of three years as a chief executive or five years in a senior management role with broad exposure to all related areas of responsibility
- Excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making and communication skills to perform the functions as described. Incumbents must have the ability to navigate political arenas with ease and persuade and negotiate with others as necessary
