Job Summary

The MAGTF Training Command (MAGTFTC) mission is to Manage the Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Program (MAGTFTP) and conduct service level Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) combined arms training to enhance the combat readiness of the operating forces and support the Marine Corps’ responsibilities to national security.

Per CMC mandate, MAGTFTC has established a Force-on-Force component to the Integrated Training Exercise (ITX) called the MAGTF Warfighting Exercise (MWX), which includes requirements for design and development of scenario(s), and observation, assessment, and mentorship of training unit staffs.
The MAGTF Training AAR Support incumbent shall be an expert doctrinal analyst, expert historical researcher, possess excellent writing skills, expertise in the Ground Combat Element (GCE) of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF), and a deep understanding of adversary forces.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Determine processes and procedures to satisfy the Program Assessment Director’s Critical Information Requirements.
  • Assist Assessment Team Lead in the design of assessment activities that assist with measuring the training units’ ability to achieve proficiency in commander identified METs.
  • Assist Assessment Team Lead in data analysis and interpretation to provide recommendations to the training unit staffs and MAGTFTC Staff.
  • Determine the most effective means of meeting data collection and reporting obligations.
  • Conduct information and knowledge assessments to identify gaps.
  • Assist the Assessment Team Lead in the coordination of MAGTF Training SME travel, attendance, logistics, support, and collection of observations ISO ITX FoF training.
  • Develop Ground Combat Element (GCE) Training and Readiness (T&R) individual and collective tasks; prepare briefings and status reports on doctrinal products being researched and developed as needed.
  • Review, analyze, and provide comments and recommendations on GCE T&R relating to proposed GCE operations doctrine, organizational changes, and new concepts forwarded for review by MCCDC, PP&O, TECOM, or other GCE advocates.
  • Participate in conferences, T&R reviews, METL development and doctrinal exchanges as required to include but not limited to:
    o in-progress reviews, decision briefings, doctrine review committees and doctrine conferences hosted by other service schools, higher headquarters, and other services and agencies.
    o present briefings to officials on emerging and published T&R concepts and materials.
    o prepare briefing materials, doctrinal summaries and status reports throughout the doctrine development process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is desired.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of various wheeled vehicles transporting personnel and cargo in varied terrain and roadways
  • Experience in direct support to the Chain of Command in managing transportation operations and mission workflows.
  • Experience with providing support and technical guidance regarding motor transport and field operations/exercises.
  • Experience with employing convoy defense techniques; preparing and implementing security and defense plans and performing convoy route reconnaissance.
  • Experience in identifying, correcting & reporting all vehicle statuses and deficiencies.
  • Demonstrated experience with excelling in deadline-intensive environment, ensuring accurate and on-time completion of all projects & missions.
  • Completion of off road training and certificate highly preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at joint/combined command level as measured by actual operational force employment experience.
  • Direct participation in real world operations in deployment and employment command and control methods and systems for the GCE is desired.
  • Must possess familiarity with military doctrine and contemporary strategic, operational, and tactical operations that govern Ground Combat Element (GCE) operations and processes and possess a working knowledge of information and knowledge management concepts and practices.
  • Must have expert knowledge of the roles and missions of various types of military forces/capabilities (including reserve component).
  • Must have an understanding of combat operations warfighting doctrine, warfighting functions, commander, and staff operations across all levels of war.
  • Must have knowledge of other services (Air Force, Navy, and Army) combat operations and doctrines.
  • Must have knowledge of military training and capabilities in executing combat operations across the Range of Military Operations (ROMO).
  • Must have excellent written, oral, telephone, email, and customer service communications skills.
  • Must have the ability to research complex issues and develop comprehensive reports.
  • Must possess self-motivation and a high level of discretion to work effectively.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Garrison work environment including but not limited to:
    • occasional field/tactical environments.
    • occasional extended working hours / overnight will be required during support of live training.
  • Physical ability to:
    • mount/dismount vehicles in a field environment.
    • bivouac in field environment.
    • climb/descend rocky mountainous terrain.
    • perform job in hot desert environment.
    • ascend/descend multiple of flights of stairs in urban training environment.
    • lift and carry up to 75 lbs. over short distance (such as a loaded backpack).


Travel

  • OCONUS and Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.


Compensation

  • $500.00 – $600.00 per day.
