• Working with knives, carbide saws, band saws, and band mill inspection alignment, and grinding, etc.
• Monitoring performance of the cutting systems, checking the quality and accuracy of the lumber, and taking any corrective measures as necessary.
• Aligning band mills, grinding band wheels, and coordinating the activities of others who are performing these duties.
• Tensioning and leveling saws to mill specifications.

• Performing all welding procedures involved in band saw repair.
• Performing all duties involved in knife grinding.
• Must be able to swage, shape and grind saws to a specified kerf. Also, must be able to adjust, align and repair the swage and shaper.
• Must be able to dress grinding wheels to fit a pre-formed template.
• Must be able to precision grind a saw without leaving burned gullets.
• Must be able to detect and repair malfunctioning filing room equipment.

What will make you successful:

• High School Diploma/GED or a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment or one year Wood Products.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated math and reading comprehension skills.
• Demonstrated/working knowledge of a computer hardware and software.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Have a demonstrated pattern of safe behavior.
• Be willing to acquire additional education / skills via continuing training courses as necessary, or required.
• Capable of working effectively with the shift Supervisor in seeing the needs of the shift and department.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime when needed.

• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check
