Ataraxia is a licensed operator of cannabis cultivation and processing facility in Albion, Illinois, and we are looking to add passionate, exceptional talent to our team!

We are currently hiring for the following shifts:
1st shift at $16 per hour and increases to $16.50 after 90 days of employment.

Job Summary:

The Extraction Specialist is responsible for performing and supporting the extraction operations of a cultivation and manufacturing facility by adhering to the operation, technical, and quality control policies and guidelines. This individual maintains excellent personal hygiene, workspace cleanliness, documentation practices, and quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product in accordance with the Department of Agriculture and standards set by Company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare equipment and raw material for extraction while adhering to timeline protocols.
  • Execute extractions as well as post-processes in accordance with state and local standards.
  • Operate extraction equipment such as rotary evaporators, reactors, filtration equipment, etc.
  • Ensure the consistency and efficiency of product through quality control testing and procedures.
  • Clean and maintain extraction equipment and manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain strict inventory records of all raw materials, chemicals, and equipment used.
  • Disposal of lab waste in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Complete the cleaning and sanitization of all production equipment, work surfaces, and tools.
  • Maintain material safety data sheets for all chemicals and products.
  • Follow laboratory safety protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures required.
  • Must be able to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner.
  • Must be comfortable with heights, soil and water, and tight spaces.
  • Must be able to climb, squat, bend, twist, stand for at least 8 hours per day, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to understand proper and safe handling of hazardous materials.
  • Must be familiar with extractions, separations, isolations, and fractionation.
  • Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent.
  • Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a science discipline preferred.
  • Additional education or experience working in a laboratory setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plant structure preferred.

Physical and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. Working Environment:

Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
