The opportunity

The wavespace Experience Designer position is a global role focused on delivery of EY’s internal wavespace sessions across the global leadership level of EY. The role enables the successful execution of EY’s priority initiatives through leveraging his/her network, technical competencies, design and facilitation skills. The wavespace Facilitator will be expected to establish and maintain trusted working relationships with senior executives as well as with partners and their global teams as part of credibly advising on and delivering strategic sessions that accelerate and advance the firm’s strategy.


Your key responsibilities


As wavespace Experience Designer in the Global EY wavespace Executive Layer internal team, you’ll help design experiences, both bespoke and repeatable, to be used across wavespace for a diverse roster of internal clients.

  • Work with Experience Leaders and Managers to help internal clients understand and articulate their vision, then design strategies to meet it
    • Design facilitated sessions for internal clients by applying design thinking methodology
    • Interpret internal client needs in real time throughout an experience and create frameworks/ activities/templates to support them
    • Define strategy and design strategic solutions for the expected experience based on stakeholder interviews, research analysis, persona creation, user needs, journey maps, and business requirements
  • Identify and collaborate with EY resources outside of the wavespace network to make use of the tools and services available and support the integration back into the designed experience
  • Design and create session materials and deliverables
  • Support internal clients in the use of the collaboration software used in the experience (e.g., Miro, Mural, Mentimeter, WeThink, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key internal clients, as well as internal/external networks
  • Have expertise in wavespace methodology and approach as well as the broader design-thinking approach
  • Articulate and differentiate the value of design in a compelling manner to business leaders
  • Prototype in real-time frameworks, diagrams, interfaces or slides to enhance understanding and alignment
  • Support wavespace Experience Leaders and Managers with various aspects of project management and “back of room” session process facilitation, as directed


Skills and attributes for success

This is a highly visible role with significant leadership interaction.
To qualify you must have/be


  • Proven proficiency in design-thinking methodology and approach
  • Professional or high-level educational experience with multi/specific design field(s) - visual, interaction, industrial, digital, etc.
  • Professional background that includes either
  • In-house design/innovation experience
  • Design/innovation experience from another consultancy
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and the political aspects of change
  • Self-starter, driven, team player attitude
  • Detail oriented, yet able to span across multiple concurrent projects
  • An innovative mindset and curiosity to seek new ways to improve or enhance ways of working, including staying current on design trends, methodologies and tools
  • Ability to travel as required and conduct multi-time zone meetings outside of local business hours
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in a corporate environment


Ideally, you’ll also have


  • Design thinking degree
  • Familiarity with digital collaboration platforms and techniques (e.g., Mural, Miro, etc.)
  • Confidence facilitating discussion groups and collaboration activities
  • Strong client-facing consulting experience

What we offer


The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary range/s.”


We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $72,500 to $131,500. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $86,900 to $149,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
