F/T ESL instructor-25 hrs/week- Online and In-Person classes Job at Metropolitan Learning Institute
This position is for teaching morning or evening ESL classes (9:00am-2:00pm, or 5:15 -10:15 pm Monday -Friday) eith online or in-person.
We are a NYS licensed adult career school running classes successfully online for the last three years. We are seeking to return to in person instruction with pilot classes, but demand for online ESL is still strong-so both types of work are available.
Classes are five hours per shift each day and thus require an instructor who is patient, creative, knowledgeable, unafraid and above all, who truly cares for their students. Curricula are set, but within their framework there is considerable room for original teaching, humor and diverse methodologies of ESL instruction.
To accommodate the need for advance lesson planning and exam grading/ recordkeeping, the school offers five (5) paid 'office hours' per month per AM or PM shift, in addition to hourly teaching pay and at the same rate.
All Instructor candidates must have a NYS BPSS Career School Teaching Permit or above in TESoL-the school will sponsor future license fees and in-service training for license upgrades.

We are also actively looking for on-call and pre-scheduled substitute teachers for freelance gig work covering individual Morning classes Monday-Friday 9am-2pm and Evening classes Monday-Friday 5:15-10:15pm as conditions require.
