Scope:
The Facilities Mechanical Engineer position is responsible for the design and operation of building systems, including all HVAC systems. The primary function will be to provide engineering design and troubleshooting for industrial HVAC, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
Engineering assignments will include the design and operations of clean room mechanical systems, including chillers, boilers, and air handlers. In addition, proven experience with writing specifications for cooling towers, heat exchangers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, DI water, and bulk chemistry storage.
This position will also involve conventional engineering practices as well as a variety of complex design requirements. Working with local jurisdictions for code related topics.
This position will require a close working relationship with vendors, fire marshals, insurance agents, and members throughout the TTM organization. In addition you will work closely with the onsite facilities and maintenance team for day to day issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide detailed engineering design and specifications for installation of new capital equipment to include electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems. Engineering assignments to include preparing specifications for new construction or remodel of existing facilities
  • Ensure optimization of all plant systems to include boilers, compressed air, air handlers, and clean room systems
  • Perform engineering and supervision/coordination for outside consulting resources
  • Provide cost estimating for proposed projects
  • Provide support for startup of new equipment and ensure that all equipment properly interfaces with other mechanical and electrical systems
  • Work in team environment with other engineers and trades people
  • Ensure designs meet all applicable codes and regulation
  • Review and analyze new and existing equipment, applications and technology
  • Generate basic drawings and maintain building layout using AutoCAD
  • Analyze code applicable to building requirements, NFPA, FM, IBC, IMC, and NEC
  • Perform research and development on emerging facilities technologies to support semiconductor processes
  • Review of facilities work orders, providing support to operating personnel; and maintaining administrative and engineering databases that support job tracking, engineering data, capital equipment facilitation and critical system loads
  • Act as the main point of contact for all contractors including scheduling, payment, and safety training
  • Lead the asset management program including equipment tracking
  • Work closely with facilities staffing to ensure timely installs and repairs
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
  • Familiar with semiconductor manufacturing and facility systems
  • Design experience in Industrial; HVAC, pumps, plumbing, steam, compressed air, and vacuum
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D or REVIT
  • Fluent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and database
  • Understanding of budgeting for construction projects
  • Good team working skills and ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills and service attitude
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with 3 to 5 years related experience
  • Master’s degree in Engineering a plus
  • PE (Mechanical focus) desired

Work Environment:
  • May work in clean room environment, including the wearing of clean room garments and following clean room policies and practices
  • Confined space work as required
  • Exposure to chemicals and variable temperatures
  • Outdoor work in variable weather conditions
  • 24 hours operation, requiring off shift support if necessary
