Facilities Engineer (Chemical and Mechanical Focus)

Location: San Jose, CA & Fremont, CA On-Site

Pay Rate: $35.00-$39.29 / HR

12-month w-2 contract with strong potential for extension / FTE conversion

Schedule: 8 AM 5 PM

Job Duties:

• Provide technical direction to design engineers and project manage the design/construction phases including leading meetings, driving scope, vendor management
• Assist with facility condition assessments of mechanical systems
• Contribute to site systems capacity planning by creating and maintaining equipment capacity, loading, and redundancy spreadsheets
• Work with cross-functional teams: planning, construction, safety, G&C service provider, building owners, management
• Gas & Chemical ordering and inventory management

Qualifications: (please note on your resume if you have the following)

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience and working knowledge of Electrical Power, Process Piping, Bulk Gasses, Cryogenic Gasses, Specialty Gasses, RO/DI Water, Acid Waste Fire Protection, etc. will be a plus
• Knowledge of design standards for semiconductor manufacturing facilities, clean rooms, analytical labs, data centers, telecom rooms, offices, mechanical rooms, and central utility plants
• Working experience with industrial gas and chemical delivery
• Knowledge of fire, building, and environment codes
• Experience with Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD
• 3+ years' experience with high-tech electronics/semiconductor manufacturing or research facility, pharmaceutical biotech facility, or another "high-availability and "high-tech type of facility
• Past role as a "Facilities Engineer or "Design Engineer
• Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and ASHRAE standards

Nice-to-Have: (please note on your resume if you have the following)

• Experience with SCADA (Client Cimplicity), CAFM (IBM RIRIGA), and CMMS (IBM Maximo)
• Working experience as a facilities engineer in a semiconductor manufacturing (wafer fab) facility

The facility Process/Mechanical systems and Equipment include RO/DI Water Processing Plants & Equipment, RO/DI Water Piping systems, RO/DI Water Pumps, CO2 Storage/CO2 Distribution Plants & Systems, N2 Generation/Storage/Distribution Plant & Systems, Process Gas Piping & Equipment, Acid and VOC fume scrubbers, Heat Exchangers, Chemical/Gaseous Liquid Storage Tanks, Vacuum pumps, Various Wastewater Treatment Plant & Systems, and DDC Control systems, etc.
