GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

To provide day to day mechanical and troubleshooting support to the Distribution departments to ensure the efficient operation of the building and operation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partner with leadership and maintenance team members to suggest process improvements, equipment needs and productivity efficiencies
  • Modify and fabricate parts for existing and new machinery
  • Operate PIT and Aerial Equipment in compliance with safety rules
  • Inspect the interior and exterior common areas of the facility/ies for debris, dust, and perform custodial and cleaning duties as needed to preserve external and internal appearance of the facility.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment as scheduled or needed due to breakdown
  • Perform installation, repair and replacement of facility equipment
  • Perform basic Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical repairs
  • Experience with Industrial High Voltage, Motors, PLC’s and Drives
  • Experience with Conveyance Systems
  • Working knowledge of Hydraulic systems/repairs
  • Working Mechanical/repair knowledge of various Powered Industrial Equipment
  • Assist with landscaping and snow removal
  • Perform installation, repair and replacement of safety and protective equipment
  • Log work and materials used so inventory can be maintained
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of contractors on maintenance issues and special projects
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work flexible schedule (shift changes as required) and extended hours and to work outside of normal shift hours (in cases of major breakdowns or to cover absent co-workers, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use power tools, welding equipment, CNC machinery.
  • Ability to understand a Voltage Meter
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints/schematics to build/trouble shoot issues.
  • Ability to present information to and speak effectively to and before groups of customers, clients, and other members of the organization.
  • Ability to read and analyze technical journals, financial reports, legal documents and related instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply or compute basic algebra, geometry, rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.
  • Mechanical ability to construct and troubleshoot electrical components.
  • Proactively assist others. Step in and help when and as needed
  • Execute special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to solve problems and apply creative and timely solutions.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; some college or formal technical school education preferred.
Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:
  • Two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Position is subject to a pre-employment aptitude testing
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a combination of business offices and loud warehouse environment, and occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
