Federal Library Technician Job at Library Systems & Services Llc
Library Systems & Services, LLC is seeking a Library Technician to support the project management team with inventory and data entry at a Federal Library in Washington, DC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compare bibliographic information in ILS records to that of the physical books
- Identify discrepancies or typos in ILS records and route them for correction
- Compare bibliographic information against sets of specified criteria to determine eligibility for various projects
- Create holding and item records when found to be missing
- Make corrections to holding and item records when incomplete
- Update ILS holding and item records to reflect inventoried status and/or changes in holding location
- Re-label items as needed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience using Voyager Integrated Library System (ILS)
- Previous library experience required
- General Microsoft Suite knowledge
- Careful attention to detail
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push/pull, hold/carry materials up to 40 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move from place to place within the location; lift, push/pull, hold/carry of items weighing up to (25) pounds and occasional up to (35) pounds such as files, books, stacks of paper, and other materials.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
