North Shore Animal League America is the largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization in the world. We are a non-profit organization and since 1944, the League's mission has been saving the lives of pets through adoption, rescue and advocacy initiatives. Every year, the League reaches across the country to rescue, nurture and adopt nearly 18,000 pets into happy and loving homes. Over the years, the League has placed more than 1.1 million puppies, kittens, cats and dogs into carefully screened homes.

We are seeking an experienced Feline Associate to provide care to felines in the foundation program as well as foster care when not assisting with the program.

Transporting animals to and from foster homes and vet hospitals. Conduct data entry for adoption applications. Assist in finding quality homes for as many animals as possible and caring for animals in our care.

Duties and Responsibilities

Feline Program

· Transport animals to and from foster homes.

· Transport animals to vet specialty hospitals for exams or drop off for procedures.

· Perform data entry of all adoptions.

· Transfer information to adoption applications from questionnaires’.

· Prepare supplies/paperwork needed for adoptions- adoption packets or discharges

· Follow up and care for felines at the League that are in the program leading up to transport.

· Prep corporate sponsor mailings to all adopters.

· Other duties as assigned.

Foster Care Program

• Check the medical center and shelter for potential nominations.
• Collect content and prepare weekly/bi-weekly foster nomination e-blasts.
• Correspond with foster parents via emails or phone calls.
• Assist in matching foster homes via collaborations with pet behavior, the medical center and or the foster care recruiter.
• Assist with foster care intakes/discharges of foster pets
• Prepare paperwork with all documents needed for foster parents.
• Conduct foster care parent check- in.
• Assist with scheduling PHC appointments for wellness or “sick” visits
• Bring supplies order to attention of the Foster care manager.
• Assist in the process of PTA adoptions
• Assist with the BFF Feline adoption process when PTA adopters return
• Assist in shelter special events when needed
• Assist with volunteer needs when necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must have a valid, clean driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years and be at least 21 years old.
• Positive and friendly attitude.
• Previous experience working hands-on with felines in a shelter environment or veterinary facility a plus.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Willingness to maintain sanitation of animal areas.
• Desire to make a positive difference in the lives of animals.
• Must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
