Responsibilities and Duties

You’ll usually work as part of a team under the supervision of a Foreperson. You might work on any of the following:

• boundary fencing for homes and farms
• vehicle barriers for roads and motorways
• parapets and bridges
• security fencing for prisons and airports
• electric fencing and gates

Your day-to-day duties could include:

• removing old fencing
• measuring and laying out new fence lines
• leveling the ground
• using hand tools or mechanical diggers
• positioning wooden or metal posts and fixing them to a concrete base
• cutting panels to size and fixing them to the posts

You’ll use a range of fencing materials, like wood, concrete, wire and metal.

Qualifications and Skills

You’ll need:

• ability to build off plans (Foreman only)
• be reliable and have integrity of your character and work ethnic
• the ability to communicate clearly
• practical skills for using hand and power tools
• the ability to understand and work to plans
• basic math skills (read a tape measure)
• practical ability in wood and metalwork
• welding experience is a plus
• reading a tape measure
• lift and move 80lbs

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.00 - $25.00 per hour
