SEEPEX Inc., an Ingersoll Rand Company, is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to work as an integral member of our Field Service team, supporting various projects associated with the manufacturing, installation and troubleshooting of electrical control systems and control panels. We need a self-directed person who can help take us to the next level with our varied customer base.


The Electrical Controls Technician will collaborate with Engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve technical issues. This position will visit end user sites to assist in integration and start-up system commissioning as required and will provides troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical components, and programming support for the customers’ equipment. Additionally, the Electrical Technician may be required to assist with other electrical issues within our plant.


We require:


The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with a process/electrical/electronic background, possessing working knowledge of plant processes, power distribution systems, automated control systems, electrical and controls instrumentation and the National Electrical Code.


  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Familiar with process and other plant instrumentation such as pressure, level, temperature, flow, and pH transmitters and other analytical process sensors at highest reliability levels. Perform programming, repairs and preventive maintenance to such equipment.

  • Ability to read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics, understand electrical wiring methods, panel build, troubleshoot and de-bug complex electrical and pneumatic functions in a production based environment.
  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively document the startup procedures, process parameters and analytical settings for future reference will be critical to the success in this position.
  • Ability to set up and test industrial and analytical process equipment to ensure it functions properly and analyze results to evaluate performance and if determine if adjustments or changes are necessary.
  • Capability of making communicating programming changes to internal engineering teams and downloading solutions to equipment in order to meet customer requirements, cycle times, and/or functionality.
  • Ability to train customers on how to properly operate and maintain equipment that includes electrical, controls, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
  • Willing to travel to customer facilities, manufacturing facilities, waste water treatment plants, water treatment plants, chemical processing plants, food processing plants, etc.
  • Computer literate and experienced using PLC programming products from Allen Bradley, Siemens, Square D, Modicon, ABB and other PLC programming platforms, Additionally, the successful candidate will have better than average skills in using MS Office Products - Outlook, Word, Excel. Familiarity with flat-file data techniques utilizing raw text, csv, dsv and other rudimentary recording techniques.
