Amteck is currently looking to add Fire Alarm Technicians to our Life Safety Division. This is a local position with plenty of room for advancement. You will be based out of our (HQ) – Lexington, KY office.

Job Description

• Installing and servicing fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial facilities
• Work independently, with inspections from the Fire Alarm Superintendents
• Determine cable pathways, install cabling support, and install surface mount raceway, cable tray,
  and conduit sleeves.
• Install, terminate, test and label Notifications circuits, SLC data circuits, and Serial data circuits.
• Read and interpret complicated blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.

Requirements for this position include but aren't limited to:

• NICET Level 1 Certification required.
• NICET Level 2 Certification preferred.
• 3+ years of experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial environments.
• Capable of the following when installing fire alarm systems: installing and terminating
  devices, installing and terminating panels, dressing out wires in panels, basic
  programming at the panel (adding/removing devices)
• Experience working with Edwards EST, Potter, or Silent Knight preferred but not
  
• Knowledge and understanding of NFPA 101, 72 and NEC regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawing and other specifications.
• Must be able to work safely and in compliance with operating and safety standards.
