Job Summary:

The Fire Safety Coordinator will investigate alleged fire violations of the Clear Lake Riviera Community Association; will process such complaints as outlined in the Fire Safety Policies and Procedures adopted by the Board of Directors.

The Fire Safety Coordinator will be involved in the ACP Committee Meetings or facilitate fire safety meetings, providing materials and information for them to make informed and timely decisions. The Fire Safety / Enforcement Coordinator reports to the Office Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

- Create agenda items for Fire Safe committee meetings & hearings

a) Coordinate materials and information for the committee

b) Report current status of fire hazards throughout the community

c) Produce minutes of meetings in format prescribed by the Board

- Annual Lot inspections

a.) Coordinate with Association’s hired professional fire inspectors to complete vacant lot inspections

b) Communicate with CalFire, pertaining to the LE100’s and on-going compliance of residences

c) Attend Lake County Fire Safe Council meetings

d) Coordinate Fire Safe meetings with community members, other Community Associations, and county agencies

- CC&R violations

a) Investigate alleged Fire Hazard violations discovered as the result of a formal complaint.

b) Process as per the Policies and Procedures adopted by the Board of Directors.

c) Participate and arrange member hearings related to fire hazards

d) Reviews spreadsheet weekly and follows up on uncleared properties,

updates spreadsheet and coordinates sending letters with office staff.

- Maintain Association fire maps

- Renewal of Firewise Certification and coordination with program advisers

- Work on plans for active fire remediation, such as pursuing grants and other methods of compliance

- Assist ACP in times of need

-Assist in the office with Member Service at the counter

-Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

- Two years’ experience working in the field of fire prevention & mitigation, home inspections, code enforcement or similar profession; an AA degree or combination thereof;

- Computer proficient in use of the Internet & WORD and ability to learn specific software such as TOPS;

-Familiarity in reading county maps and working with online GIS mapping

- Successful history of providing quality, positive customer service.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
