Essential Attributes:
    • The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
    • Support and comply with the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct of the Clerk of Courts.
    • Maintain a high standard relating to attendance, appearance, accuracy and professional conduct and behavior.
    • Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
Essential Tasks:
    • Process in and out of county cash bonds.
    • Process cash bond checks for refunds back to depositors.
    • Process cash bond checks back to Clerk for payments on Criminal cases and post check and information in case management system.
    • Input cash bond paper work from the Sheriff Dept into the PC system.
    • Balance daily deposit of cash bond monies to the PC system.
    • Perform cashiering responsibilities, balance checks/cash daily to sub-total print out.
    • Process weekly Jury payroll checks.
    • Balance monthly jury check register to jury checks subledger.
    • Receive, count, and verify cash and other negotiable instruments prior to validation.
    • Assist counter and phone customers relating to cash bond questions.
    • Balance month end cash bond funds to Oracle system.
    • Process purge payments and bond estreature and deliver to various offices.
    • Input funds collected for bond forfeitures on spreadsheet – daily – balance monthly to Oracle.
    • Post payments to case management system, look up defendants history in case management for cash bond information.
    • Process remission checks for surety bond forfeitures.
    • Ability to multi-task as needed.
    • Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
    • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills/Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
    • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with other employees of the Division and without close supervision.
    • Ability to set high standards for staff relating to attendance, appearance, general office conduct and behavior.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
    • Ability to assume leadership role, make sound decisions, and maintain high levels of customer service.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements, performance measures, and work load.
    • Ability to write routine correspondence and reports, and speak effectively to internal and external customers.
    • Ability to apply job-related Florida statutes, courtroom procedures, guidelines for effective jury management and Clerk’s policies and procedures.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to remain flexible as conditions/procedures change and continue effective performance.
    • Ability to operate a PC and/or mainframe, word processing, spreadsheet software applications, and keyboard data input devices, including calculator and general office machines with proficiency, including 10-key calculator.
    • Ability to research resource materials.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
    • Ability to read, write and speak English. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
    • Six months related job experience and/or training.
