Job Title: Seasonal Fitness & Recreation Attendant
Department: Fitness & Recreation Department
Reports To: Fitness & Recreation Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for promoting and registering members and guests for various fitness and recreational activities while providing exceptional customer service. Assist in leading various recreational activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the daily responsibilities of the Fitness Center: answering phones, restocking supplies, washing/drying towels, and submitting trouble tickets.
- Responsible for checking in guests and members into the Fitness Center and confirming a waiver has been completed.
- Responsible for selling fitness memberships and tracking member renewal dates.
- Assist members and guests with booking a variety of fitness and recreational activities.
- Responsible for opening and closing of fitness center, running nightly reports, and dropping daily deposits off at Welcome Center.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning of sports equipment in Fitness Center.
- Assist in performing facility inspections for fitness center, pool, and playground.
- Responsible for developing working knowledge of the use of FareHarbor, an online booking and reservation software system.
- Responsible for developing working knowledge of Wherewolf software as well as Visual One, a hospitality software system.
- Assist with marketing efforts for all aquatic, fitness, and recreation programs.
- Development of program ideas and providing creative input towards existing programs or upcoming events.
- Assist in planning and hosting special events and holiday activities in Harbour Town.
- Assist corporate groups with team building activities on a needed basis.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Prior customer service experience.
- Able to lift 30 or more pounds.
- Able to work alone and as part of a team.
- Appreciates and respects nature and its surroundings.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate well with members, guests, and coworkers.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Working towards college degree preferred.
- 1-2 years’ guest service experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Hands-on experience in assessment, design, and implementation of activity programs for all ability levels, Recreation and Physical Fitness and/or related fields preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Driver’s License needed.
Note: This position can also be arranged as an internship for college credit.
