What will you be doing?

The primary duties of the Floor Supervisor are to supervise, on a daily basis, the activities of the various areas of manufacturing production. The Floor Supervisor will work with and assist assembly workers who are engaged in the metal coating department operating a variety of machines, packaging, and/or manufactured products for shipment to customers.

• Analyzes production orders to estimate worker hours and creates machining schedules and completes machine set-up that meets both internal and external needs.
• Works with other Floor Supervisors to ensure conflicting priorities and activities assigned by the Metal Coating Manager and the Production Floor Manager are completed in a timely fashion.
• Computes the amount of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from the inventory.
• Interprets production orders and communicates to workers and assigns duties.
• Assists in new product development as pertains to the creation of samples, bill of materials, routings, time calculations, and final implementation.
• Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications. Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedule and customer delivery requirements.
• Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Responsible for documenting throughout the workday employees’ time sheets for entry into the company computer system. Enters time sheets as required into the computer system at the end of employees’ workday. Runs confirmation report to ensure accuracy of entries.
• Learns operates, and trains disabled and non-disabled employees on machine equipment and work tasks as required.
• Performs routine maintenance on various machines within the department to maintain equipment. Reports building, employee, and machine safety concerns to the Metal Coating Manager.
• Accurately boxes finished goods and places finished products on a skid for direct shipping to customers or transfers cartons onto shelving for stock inventory. Completes in-process and final paperwork accurately.
• Conducts inventory of raw and finished materials as requested and reports any issues to the Metal Coating Manager.
• Performs all other duties as required and directed by the President, the Vice President of Operations, and/or Metal Coating Manager.
