Duties

  • In a Snack Bar prepares a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
  • Accepts food orders from patrons and serves beverages. Spot checks the guest checks to ensure that the information recorded is correct.
  • Serves as cashier in the snack bar, receiving payment by cash or charge. Completes cash report at the end of assigned shift.
  • Ensures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned. Cleans other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas
  • Follows all safety, security, and good housekeeping rules.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Certificate of Medical Examination is required.
  • Light to heavy physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves objects weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds.
  • There are requirements to walk, stoop, bend, pull, push, and reach, frequently and to stand for long periods of time. May be required to work on ladders and use power cleaning equipment.
  • May be exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, and hot working surfaces and extreme temperature changes when entering walk in refrigerators or freezing units. There is a danger of slipping on a floor where food or beverages have been spilled.

Qualification Requirements:

Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade including but not limited to the following:

1. Possess the ability to work with minimal supervision.
2. Must be able to keep things neat, clean and in order.
3. Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
4. Possess the ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
5. Knowledgeable of basic sanitation principles.
6. Possess the ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.


Education

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

Additional information

This position is located at the Mid-POM Java Café on the central part of the Presidio. Mid-POM Java Café serves breakfast and deli sandwiches, pastries, salads, wraps, pizzas, burritos, specialty items and Starbucks Coffee. Position is an intermittent flexible position, which does not offer benefits. Hours of work are Monday through Friday. Incumbent of this position must be willing and able to start work as early as 05:30am.
