Prominent Food Manufacturer seeking a Highly Qualified Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager with SQF Exp up to $95K. Prepare to obtain required licenses related to QA such as USDA, FDA, Local Health department for VA facility.

Obtain SQF Level 3 certification by May 2023.

Department Responsibilities

Duties for FSQA Department

1. Plan and take an action for prevention and measures related to risks of quality management

2. Tasks related to quality, labeling, and quality controls

a) Enter and check the item labels including the shelf life

b) Check the labeling to submit to our customer(SEI)

c) Confirm safety of product and materials on steps of product development

d) Check the quality of products before shipping

e) Check the food safety and quality management of production process

f) Analyze the food allergens and radioactivity test of products and materials

g) Make, change, and manage the quality assurance system manuals (GMAP, HACCEP, SSOP)

h) Tasks related to sanitation of plant equipment and machines

3. Handle and coordinate the food safety inspection and quality assurance

a) Handle and coordinate for the government institutes such as USDA, FDA, Local Health Department

b) Handle and coordinate for the inspection from Customer (SEI)

4. Collect and analyze the claims from Customers, and make improvements

5. Handle recalls

6. Plan and perform education related to quality assurance (GMP)

7. Check the consistency of data of Food Hub

8. Tasks related to risk managements (disasters, accidents)

9. Perform all other tasks related to the above responsibilities.· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in food industry Food Safety and Quality Assurance or related experience

· Bachelor of Science in Food Science (desirable), Biology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field

· Understand and conduct Lean Management

(Streamlining processes, identify problems needing to be fixed by creating a continuous process flow. Using visual control, Problem solving and Eliminating waste)

· Knowledge of government regulations and role of FDA, USDA, SQF, Food Code & Crisis Management

· Certification in HACCP, Seafood HACCP, Food Defense, PCQI, Sanitation and GMP

· Able to effectively utilize quality system feedback and improvement processes to continually improve products, production, and distribution.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· 4-year degree preferred or sufficient experience.

· Open to some travel

· Training in Texas commissary for Three Months (Estimate, Training period is not guaranteed. The training end time depends on the construction completion of the new facility in Virginia)

· Vacation:

§ After six months of employment, you qualify for 5 days of paid vacation.

§ From 1 through 4 years of continuous employment, you qualify for 10 days of paid vacation per calendar year.

§ After 5 years or more of continuous employment, you qualify for 15 days of paid vacation per calendar year.

Physical Demands

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job the employee must be able to do the following: the employee is regularly required to sit and stand and to use hands and fingers. The employee is required to walk, bend, climb, and drive motorized vehicles. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The specific vision required by this job includes both close vision and distance vision.

Work Place

The employee is required to work in the normal office environment. The work environment involves daily exposure to unusual hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and/or noise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
