Mountain Empire Community College is a comprehensive two-year college serving residents of Lee, Scott, Wise, and Dickenson counties, and the City of Norton. MECC is one of twenty-three colleges in the Virginia Community College System and operates under policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Local Advisory Board. The College is financed primarily with state funds, supplemented by contributions from the local jurisdictions.

Support the Red Fox Grill’s mission to provide food services for students, faculty, and staff in a clean, sanitary, and orderly manner at affordable prices through exceptional customer service. Responsible for assisting in the grill area with the day to day food preparation, cash handling, and overall appearance of the grill area.

Minimum Qualifications
KSAs and/or Competencies Required to Successfully Perform in the Position:
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Provide a positive customer service experience
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and students.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to complete the ServSafe training course for certification as required by the Department of Health.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be available to work 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and quality standards.
- Experience in preparing and serving food in accordance with health and sanitation regulations.
- Knowledge of kitchen and cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Cash register experience.
