Summary of Duties:

Under the direct supervision of management, assist in maintaining the efficient, courteous service of quality, safe, and properly portioned foods according to the menu and high standards of operation in all customer service areas. Ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in production and Service Areas and in the proper use and care of equipment. Cooperate in contributing to a positive, productive, and harmonious work environment. Must posses a general understanding that Dining Services is an evolving ever-changing operation designed to react to trends and new information to meet and exceed our guests' expectations. This description of duties will not limit the Food Service Worker Lead job function in regards to future decisions, operational needs and dictates as initiated by Dining Services management.

Required Qualifications:
  • Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler's permit AND one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation AND serving, which includes six months experience directing the work of others; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Must be able to work: 6 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday; alternate schedule including assigned weekend shifts.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Washington Food Handler's Permit within 14 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two to five years food service experience.
  • Multi-faceted food experience.
  • Experience leading and training employees.
  • General knowledge of commercial grade kitchen equipment use, safety, and maintenance.

Monthly Salary: Range 35, $3,246 to $3,821/month (Step F-M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
