Scope: The responsibility of this position is to operate a powered industrial lift truck. Lift truck drivers are responsible for several areas within the distribution center (DC) including receiving, shipping, order picking, inventory, and put away of product. Employee is to remain in compliance with all approved / applicable safety rules, good manufacturing practices and engineered labor standards while working in the DC facility.
Receiving: Unload inbound truck and rail car shipments and safely move product into warehouse to appropriate designated areas.
Shipping: Load transfer trucks utilizing forklift, ensuring correct weights, proper bracing and placement while utilizing proper SOP loading procedures and diagrams.
Case Picking / Directed Work: Utilize forklift to select orders for shipments while keeping appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control, food safety, and security are maintained.
Inventory: Utilize warehouse management system (WMS) to maintain accurate records and reports of current stock.
Put Away: Efficiently stack and store product in appropriate locations as directed by WMS. Maintain record of all products received using WMS.
Communication: Maintain open communication with supervisors and employees on any changes that may occur while on task.
Equipment: Powered industrial lift truck and any other tools necessary to complete tasks given.
Safety, Housekeeping, Security: Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
Qualifications:
Education (Preferred Level): High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Any equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
Special Requirements: Must have basic proficiency in reading, writing, math, and computer skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work in a quick paced environment, while working well with others and promoting a positive attitude. Powered industrial lift truck certification.
