Position:
The ideal Front Office Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Front Desk and the seemingly effortless movement of guests through the hotel. This includes the comprehensive knowledge of all required brand standards related to check-in and checkout procedures, and the general operations of hotel facilities.

Essential Functions:

  • The following is an estimated breakdown of the average time spent by the individual on the specific job functions necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
  • Ensure all guests are welcomed and served in an efficient and courteous manner executing all brand standards during the arrival process and that policies and procedures are consistently applied
  • Act as the first management line of contact (MOD) for all guest complaints or immediate issues including emergency response
  • Responsible for the technical training of each of the Front Desk associates
  • Assist GM/AGM with scheduling, ordering of supplies, inventory for front desk, and other duties as needed
  • Ongoing responsibility to assure the culture is maintained
  • Coordinate hotel operations with other departments in order to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction
  • Assist in the daily maintenance of room inventory status to achieve optimal levels of revenues while maintaining high levels of guest expectations
  • Responsible for the Marriott Bonvoy membership program and ensure that all guests who are members are appropriately recognized, meeting all standards
  • Perform all the duties of Guest Service Agent as assigned including but not limited to check-in, checkout, financial transactions, directions, etc. (see below for Guest Service Agent details)
  • GSA to employ a “speak first” philosophy to ensure every guest is greeted and warmly, welcomed on arrival and thanked on departure.
  • Register guests to the hotel, verifying reservation, address, email address and credit information. Proficient with business center equipment to assist when necessary
  • Responsible for communicating guest needs issues to Housekeeping and Engineering for immediate attention
  • Process all retail transactions for the guest
  • Promote the Marriott Bonvoy Program providing recognition and benefits to all present members
  • Describe member benefits to non members with the goal of enrollment

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Speak, read, write and understand English to facilitate an excellent communication process.
  • Must possess basic computational ability
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities
  • General knowledge of the city where hotel is located and its attractions
